OFFICE Visits
We understand parental anxiety and concern when the child is unwell. We strive to provide same day appointment for sick visits. Sick visits can be any type of acute illness. Typical sick visits we commonly encounter include: Ear pain, sore throat, cold, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, asthma attack, allergies, skin rashes, injuries including falls, cuts, burns, animal bites, etc.
Other reasons for scheduling an office visit include discussing specific, new or existing health problems. Dr. Vani may prescribe medication, order tests, refer you to a specialist or discuss other treatment options. Depending on your insurance benefits, an office visit usually results in additional costs to you.
Please call and book a sick visit right away if your child experiences:
- 0 - 3 months old with fever > 100.4°F
- 3 - 12 months old with fever > 101.0°F
- At any age, fever between 104.0 – 105.0°F
- Fever not responding to fever reducing medicine
- Fever accompanied with headache, stiff neck, red spots or purple-colored patches on the skin
- Fever accompanied with pain / rash
- Fever following an overseas visit
- Breathing difficulty or has difficult to control wheezingF
- A seizure associated with fever
- Signs of dehydration (dry mouth, fewer wet diapers, fewer urination)
- Child has blood in stools
- Widespread hives on the body
- Fall or head injury
If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or take your child to the nearest emergency room right away.
