Why Medical Ear Piercing?
Clinical Environment
Performed under the same sterile conditions as minor medical procedures — not in a retail setting — which dramatically reduces infection risk.
Trained Staff
Piercing is performed by Dr. Vani, not retail employees.
Sterile Equipment
Single-use, sterile piercing instruments — no shared piercing guns. Hypoallergenic, implant-grade earrings reduce allergic-reaction risk.
Child-Friendly
Our staff are experienced with anxious children. We take our time to ensure your child feels comfortable before we begin.
Caring for New Piercings
Clean twice daily with sterile saline solution. Avoid touching with unwashed hands.
Very gently rotate the earrings for the first 2-4 weeks while healing occurs.
Avoid submerging in pools, hot tubs, or open water during the healing period.
Watch for signs of infection: increasing redness, warmth, swelling, or discharge. Call us if concerned.
Minimum age is 6 months. Typically, both earlobes are pierced at the same appointment. A parent or legal guardian must be present.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum age for ear piercing?
Children must be at least 6 months of age, and there is no upper age limit. A parent or legal guardian must be present in the room at the time of the procedure.
Does it hurt?
There is a brief moment of discomfort — we will not tell you otherwise. Our staff are experienced with anxious children and take time to ensure your child feels as calm as possible before we begin. Most children recover quickly and are proud of their new earrings within minutes.
Can I get just one ear pierced?
We usually pierce both earlobes at the same appointment. This ensures symmetry and avoids repeating the experience. Regardless of one or two piercings, the charge remains a $100 flat fee.
Is the $100 fee covered by insurance?
No. Medical ear piercing is a cosmetic/elective service and is not covered by health insurance. The $100 fee is self-pay, due at the time of service. We accept cash, debit, and credit cards (a 3% card convenience fee applies).
When can my child swim after ear piercing?
We recommend avoiding pools, hot tubs, lakes, and other bodies of water for at least 6–8 weeks while the piercings heal. Chlorine and bacteria in water significantly increase infection risk during the healing period.
What if there is a reaction or infection?
Call us. Minor redness and crusting around the piercing in the first few days is normal. Signs of infection include increasing redness, warmth, swelling, significant discharge, or fever. We will see your child promptly and provide appropriate treatment.
