1 · Who we are
Care & Cure Pediatrics is an independent pediatric primary care practice in Irving, Texas. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean VV Pedi Consults PLLC, doing business as Care & Cure Pediatrics. “You” means a parent, guardian, patient or visitor using our website or services.
2 · What this policy covers — and what it does not
This policy explains what information we collect through:
- our website, careandcurepeds.com;
- our patient portal and online check-in, at my.cacpeds.com;
- online appointment booking;
- text messages and email we exchange with you.
It does not govern your child’s medical record. Protected health information — your child’s chart, diagnoses, test results, immunizations, medications and everything else we record in the course of care — is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which is the document required by HIPAA and which describes your rights over that information. Where the two documents touch the same information, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs. Ask at the front desk for a copy.
3 · What we collect
Information you give us. Your name and your child’s name, dates of birth, address, telephone numbers, email address, insurance details, and the answers you provide when you complete check-in or fill in a form. If you create a patient portal account, we keep the email address you sign in with.
Information about payments. If you pay online or save a card for later, your card details are entered directly with our payment processor and we never receive or store your full card number. We keep a record of the payment, the last four digits, and the card type.
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we may collect your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This is ordinary web-server and analytics information and we use it to keep the site working and to understand which pages people use.
Text-message information. See §6.
We do not offer sign-in through Google, Facebook, Twitter or any other social network, and we do not collect information from social media accounts.
4 · How we use it
- To provide care, schedule and confirm appointments, and complete check-in.
- To bill you and your insurer, and to collect amounts you owe.
- To reach you about your child’s care and your account.
- To keep our website and patient portal working, secure, and free of abuse.
- To meet our obligations under the law, including keeping records we are required to keep.
We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
5 · How we share it
We share information only where it is needed, and only with:
- health-care providers involved in your child’s care, such as a specialist we refer to, a laboratory, a pharmacy or a hospital;
- your health plan, to obtain payment;
- service providers who work for us under contract and may use the information only to do that work — for example the company that hosts our medical record system, our payment processor, and the telecommunications provider that delivers our text messages;
- others, where the law requires it, such as public-health reporting, or a court order.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
6 · Text messages (SMS)
When we text you. If you give us your mobile number and tell us you want text messages, we use them to send appointment reminders, secure check-in links, notices that a billing statement is ready, and replies to questions you send us. We text only the parents and guardians of children who are established patients of the practice. We never send marketing or promotional text messages.
How you agree, and how you stop. We text you only if you have told us you want to. Giving that permission is optional, and declining does not affect your child’s care in any way. You can stop at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP to get our practice name and office telephone number. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT.
What we collect for this. Your mobile telephone number; the fact that you consented, and the date you did; the messages we send you and any replies you send us; and delivery information from the mobile carrier, such as whether a message was delivered.
How we use it. Only to send you the messages described above and to respond to you, and to keep a record of your consent and of what we sent, which we are required to do.
How we share it. We share your mobile number with the telecommunications provider that delivers the message for us, and with no one else for this purpose. We do not sell your personal information. Mobile telephone numbers and text-message consent are never sold, rented, or shared with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing purposes, and are not shared with anyone for marketing purposes of any kind.
What our messages contain. We keep them short and they carry no medical details — no diagnosis, no reason for the visit, no test result, and no amount owed. A message tells you who is writing and when your appointment is, and nothing more, because a text may be read on a lock screen in a shared household.
Message frequency and cost. Message frequency varies with your child’s appointments and account activity. Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge you for these messages.
This number is not monitored for urgent matters. Do not use text messages to tell us about a medical problem or an emergency. Call the office on 972-893-1192, or dial 911 in an emergency.

7 · Cookies
Our website uses cookies — small files stored by your browser — to keep the site working and to understand how it is used. You can set your browser to refuse cookies; parts of the site may then not work as intended. We do not use cookies to advertise to you or to build a profile of you for anyone else.
8 · How we protect it, and how long we keep it
We hold your information on systems protected by encryption in transit and at rest, access controls that limit each member of staff to what their role requires, and logging of who opens a record. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise; we tell you promptly if something happens that affects you and the law requires us to.
Medical records are kept for as long as Texas law requires — for a child, until the patient’s twenty-first birthday, or seven years after the last treatment, whichever is longer. Other information is kept only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as the law requires.
9 · Children
Our patients are children. Our website, patient portal and online check-in are intended to be used by parents, guardians and other adults acting for a child — information about a child reaches us from that adult, or from the care we provide, and not from the child through this website. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child through the website.
Adolescents have privacy rights of their own. Under Texas law certain kinds of care a minor consents to are confidential to that minor, and our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we handle that, including what a parent or guardian can see in the patient portal. If you have a question about it, please ask.
10 · Your rights
Your rights over your child’s medical record — to see it, to get a copy, to ask for a correction, to ask for an accounting of disclosures, and to ask us to communicate with you at a particular number or address — are set out in our Notice of Privacy Practices, and you exercise them with us directly rather than through this website.
For the information this policy covers, you may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. Write to us at the address below or call the office.
11 · Links to other websites
Our website may link to sites we do not control — a health plan, a hospital, a public-health resource. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we suggest you read the policy on any site you visit.
12 · Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and we will post the new version on this page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you.
